Should I sell in the Winter?
Most people are inclinded to want to list there properties during the spring time because we are told the market is the best then. True, the market tends to be stronger in the spring, but does that mean that the spring is the best time to sell?? Well keep in mind many people think that the spring is the best time to sell. Therefore you are competing against more active houses on the market. The greater the supply of houses the more pressure down on prices as people motivated to sell drop their prices to sell quickly. People who are looking to buy during the winter season are MOTIVATED buyers. In other words they must buy. So they are looking for the best option on the market. So having your house on the market can catch these buyers. Also the start of the spring market is very weather dependant. So no one really knows when it starts and already having your house on the market means your already prepared for the spring market. Early bird sometimes gets the worm. So don't be afraid of listing in the winter, rather be afraid of choosing the wrong agent. Some agents are so busy you may not see them again after you sign the paperwork, they will send you a brand new realtor to cut their teeth selling your home.
